Pak Army Museum

Historical Background

The Army Museum was created in 1961 in a makeshift warehouse close to General Headquarters for the purpose of documenting and preserving the history of the Pakistan Army. In December 1993, work on a new museum building was finished at the site on Iftikhar Janjua Road in Rawalpindi. Over time, it became apparent that the museum needed to be updated and renovated so that it could depict our military history in a yet more chronological way while also improving the exhibits' appeal and attractiveness to visitors. Beginning in 2010, renovation and refurbishing work was officially launched on November 26, 2013.

The history of the Pakistan Army is presented in the Pak Army Museum. It provides a chronological account of the Pakistan Army's history from its founding to the present. The Museum comprises images, maps, diagrams, and audio-visual representations of several significant historical occurrences, as well as the struggles and sacrifices made to preserve our national ideology and territorial integrity.
