It was a frosty night, and everything was going pretty well. Jeniffer sat all wrapped in the blanket, sipping hot chocolate, when she heard a knocking at the door. She assumed it was the kids outside in the park nearby her home. Again, the fierce knock shook her to the core. She went about the door hurriedly, and after unbolting it, she unearthed a despairing family at her doorstep. The two children and the parents were wet as the sand on the shore. For goodness, Jeniffer brought the family in and gave some space for them to mellow out. The family appeared bizarre and did not converse or thank her for the help.
Jeniffer tried to inquire about the family but did not get a moment. Suddenly, the father uttered, "I'm really delighted about your help. We are homeless, and to find shelter on this stormy night we came here as we heard of your decency." The family was quite pleased, and Jeniffer provided them a room upstairs for a night's stay.
It was midnight, and the entire place was shrouded in dead silence. Abruptly, Jeniffer heard a loud thudding coming from somewhere unknown. She went outside and caught sight of a child hammering something on the floor behind the sofa. The child ran lightning fast as he saw her noticing him. Jeniffer could figure out nothing about where the child went. She got scared, yet, she decided to get to the bottom of the situation.
Jeniffer proceeded forward unsteadily, keeping a keen eye on everything. Just then, she heard someone rushing upstairs and unexpectedly looked back. Jeniffer saw a boy spying on her, and then gradually, he disappeared. She couldn't see anything suitably due to the lack of light, but she tried her best to climb up the stairs and follow the bloke.
The hall was vacant, and no single person was spotted as Jeniffer reached up. Keeping her hopes lifted, she went forward in pursuit of the boy. Suddenly, a clamor was heard from a room that was left open. Glimpsing the gap in the door, Jeniffer peeked through it a little. What she saw, she could not shun. The family was practicing black magic!
Jeniffer was as scared as she could possibly be. She turned around and headed backward. She rushed into her room, locked it, and tried calling the police, but there were no signals, so she decided to wait until it was morning.
As the day broke, Jeniffer went outside. The family was already down, but she could only see the two children. Tired of searching for them in the entire house, Jeniffer came to the kitchen and was surprised to see the parents making breakfast there. Her mouth was left vastly open.
      "Good morrow!
Have your breakfast. I made it special for you,"
Jeniffer took it without uttering a word but was still stunned. They were all seated in the dining and started to have their breakfast. Soon they were all done with it. As Jeniffer stood up from the chair, she felt dizzy and fell unconscious on the floor.
Jeniffer woke up at night and tried to walk steadily but couldn't. Suddenly, the house started shaking in its most violent motion. The lights started blinking. She was intensely confused, and in no time the house collapsed.
Jeniffer aroused and found herself on a stretcher surrounded by a rescue team outside her house. She sat and saw her home torn into pieces. The police officer came to interrogate and asked, "Madam? Would you be kind enough to state what actually happened last night?"
Jeniffer unhurriedly and steadily stated the entire event. The police said that the family who stayed at her house were under the shadow of evil.
Jeniffer cried and became delirious but was soon taken to a doctor. She regretted the moment she allowed the family in her house, but nothing could be done. Shortly, she was sent to her family. The house was sealed, and everyone was informed to be careful with allowing people to enter their homes.
